A four-strand video system for OUP's flagship English File - interviews, dramas, animations and documentaries built around every unit.
English File is a globally renowned English language textbook course published by Oxford University Press. It is one of the most successful ELT courses ever created and is now in its Fifth Edition. This edition fully integrated video into every aspect of the course, innovating in a way never quite seen before.
The brief was simple: to work with the authors and publishing team to create a wide variety of different videos, drama, documentary, animations, interviews and many others, that furthered the pedagogical requirements of each lesson and fully integrated with the components of the course.
An incredible mix of video content with one shared aim: bring each lesson to life.
English File is a flagship OUP course. Across the series we produced four distinct video strands - interviews, dramas, animations and documentaries - each designed to sit next to a specific topic and give learners a different way in.
A series of interviews with experts from all kinds of different fields, including interviews with the actor Benedict Cumberbatch, journalist Aasmah Mir, adventurer Lisa Fenton and mathematician Bobby Seagull, to name just a few.
A series of dramas linked to the topic of each unit. Each drama told a different story - a murder mystery whodunnit, a salsa class love triangle, housemates crying over lost milk - but they all showcased key grammar and vocabulary in a fun and engaging way.
A series of animations, often using artwork from the book, showcases key grammar and vocabulary.
A series of documentaries on a wide variety of themes, from the post-colonial debate around museum artefacts to mountain rescue in the Lake District and urban design. Each video looks at a broad topic through a specific lens and helps students contextualise everything they've learned.
